Homestay StoneAge Hospitality
The StoneAge Hospitality is a social initiative of Folklore Retreats & Homestays. It's a mission to revitalize dying villages. Vikram Singh Bangari, a visionary, returned to his ancestral village, Sainkura, to transform it into a thriving community. With organic farming, sustainable tourism, and the mystical allure of the 'Thull Dung' rock, Vikram is leading a movement to reverse migration and empower locals. Folklore Retreats & Homestays is proud to support this inspiring journey.

Experience authentic village life in comfort. Our four private rooms with attached bath, complete with modern amenities, offer a serene escape. Savor wood-fired cuisine, unwind by the evening bonfire, and immerse yourself in local culture. Explore organic farms, trek to the mystical Thull Dung, and witness firsthand the village's inspiring revival. More than just a stay, it's a journey of discovery. Join us in supporting a community on the path to self-sufficiency.
Limited availability during peak season.
Learning Organic Farming and seeing Vikram’s initiative with Sandle wood plantation in a traditional way is also highly suggested for the interested souls. There are more surprises in store for those willing to explore beyond what is already said. Festivals are the times when the migrated villagers ensure to come back to water their roots every summer only to return to major cities for work a few days later. Folklores are an integral part of the overall experience and that is what brings back the visitors again and again to the same quiet town of Sainkura each time offering an enhanced experience. While the homestay offers only 4 rooms, having seeing the results and relentless efforts of one single soul, the villagers have now come forward and offered their own houses for guests stay whenever need be. The village is now able to offer accommodation to over 100 guests at a time making it ideal for not just families or small group of likeminded friends but even for educational and corporate groups that are ready to break the monotony and try out something that not only enriches their own understanding of simplicity but also helps Sainkura village to find its feet on grounds one day with its youth staying back and some coming back to their beautiful village.

How to Reach
The nearest popular places are Manila Devi Temple and Bhikiyasen. Although in Almora District, the village is above 100 Kms. From Ramnagar (Jim Corbet the distance is about 90 Kms via Bhikyasen or Manila Devi route). The Manila Devi route, is much more picturesque and thus suggested. The routing however for both the options are as below:
Via Manila Devi route (90 Kms)
Ramnagar – Marchula & Right side road from Corbet River Creek Resort and Right turn towards Taarini Corbett Resort (36 Kms)
Continue on this road crossing Thala Thiriyal, Molekhal till Dotiyal Market (35 Kms) and take a right turn towards Manila Devi Temple.
Just about 3 Kms short of Manila Devi Temple, you get a left turn from the Govt. Collage, Manila and turn from there. The road straight leads to StoneAge Hospitality Homestay (12 Kms). Last 100m road is rough however drivable for most cars with 160mm or more ground clearance.
Via Bhikyasen route (95 Kms)
Drive from Ramnagar to Mohan and go right turn towards (21 Kms) Ghatti Station (39 Kms). Take Left from Ghatti Station to reach Bhikyasen (21 Kms). Form Bhikyasen drive straight to Jainal (5 Kms) and then take a left towards crossing the Jainal Bridge. After crossing the bridge you have to take a right turn (U Turn) within 3 Kms and the road takes you straight to Village Khaylon and then to Village Sainkura (9 Kms). The last 2.5 Kms road is narrow and rough and only suggested for SUVs with 180mm plus ground clearance. Parking is right near the Homestay.
